TERRAINS…the body is built for truth
Fourteen women over the age of 55 dive into a grand movement experiment resulting in portraits of their truth shared through film.
Movement goes where language cannot. Terrains is a snapshot of movement in nature with women expressing their inner truths of what it means to be ‘old’ in our culture. The director, inspired by her experience of turning 55, worked with each one – none of them performers – to identify a theme of what matters most to them at this point in their lives. Together they filmed these ideas throughout Whatcom County’s woods, beaches, rivers, meadows, mountains and hills. The result is a visually stunning, dialogue-free film sharing their individual expressions of universal themes.
